19 February 2026 – IFPI has confirmed that APT., the collaboration between Rosé and Bruno Mars, is IFPI’s Official Biggest-Selling Global Single of the Year 2025, following one of the most competitive years in the chart’s history.
The track secured the #1 position in a year dominated by global hits with exceptional longevity. Its success marked several milestones: it is the first time the IFPI Global Single Chart has been topped by an artist outside of North America or Europe, and the first time a winning single has featured non-English lyrics, reflecting the increasingly global nature of recorded music and the role of labels in breaking language and market barriers.
The release was supported by coordinated international label campaigns, aligning radio, digital platforms, and marketing efforts across regions to ensure sustained visibility and long-term audience engagement. For Bruno Mars, the win marks his first #1 IFPI Global Single since Just The Way You Are in 2011.
Following closely at #2 was Golden by HUNTR/X, one of two singles on the chart from the animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters, delivering a standout performance for a single released mid-year. The top 10 also showcased the growing importance of collaborations, with Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s Die With A Smile reaching #4, while Kendrick Lamar and SZA placed at #8 with luther – releases supported by strong global rollout strategies.
In a historic first, each of the top five singles from 2024 remained in the chart for 2025, with eight of the year’s top ten singles originating from prior year releases. This longevity reflects continued label investment in audience development and the sustained promotion of high-performing repertoire.
Alex Warren made his debut on the chart with Ordinary at #3, one of two 2025 releases in the top 10. Other chart debuts include Gracie Abrams with That’s So True at #9, sombr with back to friends (#16), and Ravyn Lenae’s Love Me Not (#20).
Victoria Oakley, CEO, IFPI, said:
“Rosé and Bruno Mars topping the IFPI Global Single Chart with APT. is a landmark moment, not least as it’s the first time a winning single has featured non-English lyrics.
“This year’s results also underline the global reach of today’s music market, with songs connecting across languages and borders.”

Note to editors
The IFPI Global Single Chart measures consumption of a track (including remixes and alternative versions) and considers single track downloads and streaming across both free and paid platforms, translated into chart units by IFPI according to a rigorous methodology based on the relative economics of each format in each region globally. In 2024, an enhancement was made to this methodology to better account for the economics of subscription streams across regions – therefore the Global Subscription Stream Equivalents outlined below are not directly comparable with IFPI Global Single Chart results from 2023 and earlier.
About the IFPI Global Charts
IFPI’s Global Charts provide the most complete picture of artist, album and track performance worldwide. The Charts capture streaming, downloads and physical formats in every country directly from the participating record labels, which is then converted using IFPI’s unique methodology to a single, global chart figure. The methodology, developed in partnership with IFPI’s member record labels, reflects global commercial success by combining the most exhaustive reporting of unit sales and streams with the country-level economics of each consumption type.
IFPI will release the results of the IFPI Global Album for 2025 later this week.
