Senior Global Licensing Executive

Background
IFPI is the global trade body for the recording industry and works closely with our member record companies. We operate within a broad range of fields covering areas such as anti-piracy, content protection, data and analysis, global charts and certifications, litigation, legal policy, international trade, licensing, technology, and communications.
IFPI’s head office is in London, with regional offices in Brussels, Miami, Singapore, Nairobi, and Abu Dhabi, and a representative office Beijing. We have affiliated organisations in 70 countries, including national groups and music licensing companies that represent their own region’s member record companies. We are seeking a Senior Global Licensing Executive to join the IFPI Licensing Team in London, UK.
General Responsibilities
- Coordinate and develop the work of industry music licensing companies (MLCs) globally.
- Work closely with record company representatives, international MLCs, and IFPI regional offices to develop:
- MLCs’ reporting
- benchmarking
- tools to identify best practices and global priorities
- performance KPIs and targets.
- Work closely with management teams in priority MLCs to implement best practices to achieve the agreed objectives and targets
- Lead online and in-person workshops and working groups with MLCs to share knowledge and identify and disseminate best practice, including creating best practice guides and documents.
- Working on regional and global Performing Rights Committee (PRC) meetings in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, including preparing panel discussions and presenting to groups of between 50-150 C-level executives.
- Developing new markets and ensuring compliance with the IFPI Code of Conduct and Standard Distribution Principles for MLCs.
- Working alongside the Head of Global Licensing Analysis to utilise the financial and other data submitted to IFPI by MLCs to develop and monitor effective strategies to increase collections and improve operations.
- Working with IFPI’s Legal Policy team to develop strategies to improve licensing in various territories around the world
Requirements:
- At least five years of experience in business development, strategy and/or licensing
- Ability to develop and manage partnerships across different cultures and nationalities
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across teams, disciplines, and cultures
- Proactive, self-driven, highly motivated, analytical and possess strong business acumen
- Excellent presentation skills, with a working knowledge of MS PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, including report writing to high technical standard
- A good understanding of the international copyright framework, relating to musical works and sound recordings would be helpful
- Some international travel would be required.
Desirable:
- Experience in the entertainment or creative industries and/or in the collective management.

The role
IFPI is the leading global source of data for the recorded music industry and is seeking a Global Financial Analyst to join its Global Data and Analysis team in London. The team produces authoritative industry reports including the quarterly MAP market size and share report, the annual Global Music Report, and IFPI’s global charts for artists, singles, and albums. It also supports global and regional finance committees, working with major and independent record labels, national groups across 60 markets, DSPs (like Spotify, Apple and YouTube), and chart compilers to improve data quality and consistency across the industry.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact global insights, enabling stakeholders to make informed business decisions in a rapidly evolving digital market. The team’s mission is to turn comprehensive data into strategic analysis that supports the growth and understanding of the global music business.
General Responsibilities
The role focuses on two core areas: Quarterly Sales Reporting and Data Integrity. You will ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of global recorded music sales data collected through IFPI’s MAP system from major and independent record labels, applying industry-wide reporting standards aligned with IFRS (notably IFRS 15). This includes collaborating with reporting companies, National Groups, and internal teams to support data collection, resolve issues, drive improvements in coverage methodologies, mitigate stream manipulation, and present reporting updates. You will also provide technical expertise on reporting standards and engage in ongoing improvements to ensure data quality and consistency.
In addition to sales reporting, you will support process enhancements and automation efforts with the MAP Product Manager, conduct audit-style data reviews in key markets, and work closely with DSPs and labels to maintain a transparent and reliable global data environment. You will also assist with ad-hoc market analyses, prepare data-driven presentations for senior stakeholders, liaise with competition lawyers to ensure compliance, support regulatory requests, and coordinate activities across global, regional, and national committees to foster alignment and communication within IFPI’s member network.

Content Protection Intelligence Analyst

Background
IFPI is the voice of the recording industry worldwide. IFPI and its National Group network represents the interests of some 8,000 members across the globe. IFPI’s Global Content Protection and Enforcement (CPE) department delivers 24/7 monitoring and reporting of online infringements, provides technical analysis and investigations and in connection with services that infringe and facilitate infringement of our members’ rights. The department devises strategies and programmes to deter, disrupt and dismantle illegal online activities, which are executed in partnership with law enforcement agencies, intermediaries and administrative authorities.
Role
IFPI’s Content Protection & Enforcement team is looking for an experienced, proactive, passionate and creative individual to assist with the analysis, development and reporting of music piracy intelligence.
The candidate will identify, collect, interpret, develop and evaluate data and information obtained from a range of sources, and turn it into actionable intelligence to support civil and criminal cases.
The candidate will be asked to produce, or contribute to, reports that contain the analysis and recommendations on next stages of intervention, thereby fulfilling an important role in discussions surrounding strategic and tactical decisions. Working on several cases at a time, the candidate will require excellent communication and organisational skills.
Requirements
- Proactive investigative experience, in particular internet-based investigations.
- Ability to identify and develop actionable intelligence.
- Experience in Open Source and Social Media intelligence.
- Ability to produce reports, documents and intelligence briefings to a high standard.
- Experience liaising with internal/external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify and mitigate against risk.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Good knowledge of internet-based piracy and current threats.
- Knowledge of musical genres and current top artists.
- Understanding of domain, mobile applications and DNS networks would be advantageous.
