National Group Membership

IFPI’s National Groups represent the recording industry at the national level, providing infrastructure such as charts, certifications, and awards, while advocating for record companies on key industry issues and protecting music through anti-piracy efforts. National Groups work closely with IFPI to implement global initiatives locally and support the growth of vibrant music markets.

On behalf of my company, I hereby apply for membership of IFPI and, if my application is accepted, I agree to abide by the Statutes and Regulations of IFPI and to pay the annual membership subscription.

IFPI, International Federation of the Phonographic Industry is a non-profit-making Swiss Association, with its registered office at c/o Markus Berni, Holbeinstrasse 30, 8008 Zurich, Switzerland. Its objects are as follows:

(i) to create and promote the rights of producers of phonograms and videograms (“music videos”) nationally through statutes, case law or contract, and internationally through conventions and agreements and, where such rights already exist, to defend, preserve and develop them;

(ii) to further the interests of producers of phonograms and music videos by making representations to governments and negotiating with international intergovernmental organisations or non-governmental organisations and other interested and representative bodies;

(iii) to advance generally the present and future welfare of its members.

ELIGIBILITY

Membership of IFPI is open to a legal entity or person which is either a producer of phonograms or music videos, copies of which are made available to the public in reasonable quantities.

Any applicant which, in the opinion of the Main Board of Directors, has engaged in the unauthorised creation, imitation, duplication, sale, importation or other use of sound recordings or artist’s performances in violation of any law within 5 years’ of its application, is ineligible for membership.

Applicants and members are expected to act with honesty, integrity and professionalism in all dealings connected with IFPI membership and in all interactions with IFPI, IFPI staff, other members and external stakeholders. Applicants and members must provide accurate and complete information to IFPI, must not misrepresent their organisation, membership status, authority to act, or relationship with IFPI, and must not state or imply that they speak on behalf of IFPI unless expressly authorised to do so.

The IFPI name, logo, membership announcement graphic, email signature graphic, digital badge, membership status (“IFPI Member Assets”) and any other IFPI-branded asset or identifier may only be used as permitted by IFPI and in accordance with any IFPI terms, policies, brand guidelines, usage instructions or approvals issued from time to time. They must not be used in a way that is misleading, unauthorised, suggests endorsement, certification, approval or sponsorship by IFPI, or is likely to damage, dilute or adversely affect IFPI’s reputation, goodwill, independence or role as a global representative body for the recording industry.

Applicants and members must not use IFPI membership, IFPI materials or IFPI Member Assets in connection with any unlawful, misleading, defamatory, offensive, discriminatory, political, controversial or otherwise inappropriate content, activity or communication. They must not alter, transfer, share, sub-license or make IFPI-branded assets, member resources, information, services or benefits available to any third party or non-member, except with IFPI’s prior written consent.

Applicants and members must comply promptly with any request from IFPI to amend, suspend or cease use of IFPI materials, membership references or IFPI Member Assets, including where IFPI considers that the relevant use is inconsistent with its terms, policies, instructions or reputation. Permission to use IFPI-branded assets or membership references may be suspended, withdrawn or terminated by IFPI, including where membership ends, lapses, is suspended or is terminated.

IFPI reserves the right to take appropriate action where these expectations are not met. This may include requiring corrective action, withdrawing permission to use IFPI materials or IFPI Member Assets, suspending or terminating membership, and/or taking any other action available to IFPI under its Statutes, membership rules, policies or applicable law.

ADMISSION

Applications are submitted to the Main Board of Directors of IFPI for approval, on the recommendation of National Groups or Affiliated Organizations of IFPI (where they exist) or Regional Directors of IFPI. Applications are circulated to the Main Board four times a year. The Main Board then has one month to object to any application.

A full annual membership subscription is payable by an applicant for the year in which the applicant is applying for membership. Admission to membership takes effect on the day of receipt of membership subscription fee.

An annual membership subscription, based on membership category is payable by every member.

Any knowingly false declaration in this form will entitle IFPI to terminate membership forthwith
