Music Climate Pact

IFPI supports the Music Climate Pact and its commitment to ‘decarbonise’ the global music business in alignment with the latest climate science.

Established in December 2021, the Music Climate Pact is a global platform, initiated by the BPI and AIM, as a response to COP26 and the urgent call for collective action to combat the climate crisis.

The Pact sets out a series of high-level commitments that will serve as a declaration of intent for the global music sector, bringing together key actors to align as a sector and address the biggest environmental impacts in a collaborative way.

Founding signatories of the Pact include Sony Music Group, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group alongside a range of other independent record companies.

IFPI pledges its support of the Pact – agreeing to work with the Pact signatories in the reciprocal sharing of data, knowledge and resources to help deliver the Pact commitment.
