Resource
| Something which plays a role in a Context but is not a Time or a Place: Resource is therefore the "catch-all" parent for other entities. Resources may be physical, digital or abstract concepts, and include the Products, Releases, Recordings, Works and other human-made Creations which are the objects of creative and commercial activity; but Resource also includes the people or organizations (Parties) who can act as agents, and all forms of tools and materials which may be used or referenced in the processes described within PCS. |

Adaptation
| A Creation which is the result of modifying elements of another Creation. Examples: an arrangement of a song, a translation of a text, a remix of a SoundRecording. |

Content
| A Creation which is contained within another Creation. Content may be a physical, digital, spatiotemporal or abstract Creation. |

LexicalCreation
| A Creation containing words. |

Manifestation
| A Creation that is directly perceivable, and which may be an expression of an identified Abstraction. Example: a Performance of a piece of music is a Manifestation of a Composition. |

Medium
| A medium in, on or through which a Creation may be made perceivable. Media include all forms of communication systems, playing devices and carriers. |

MetadataSchema
| A Set of Terms brought together to provide information about something. |

Work
| An abstract Creation which is recognized through one or more Manifestations. Example: a MusicalWork recognized through its Performances, or a LexicalWork recognized through its Texts. Note that in PCS the term "Work" does not necessarily carry any legal connotations. |
