Christina Boettner is IFPI's New Director of Insight

5th December 2013, London

Christina Boettner is to join IFPI as its new Director of Insight. Working closely with members and national groups, she will head the organisation's industry analysis and market research activities, covering the recorded music market worldwide. Boettner succeeds Gabriela Lopes, who is leaving IFPI in January to work for Universal Music.

No stranger to the music industry, Boettner started her career at BMG Music Entertainment. She later moved to Johnson & Johnson, where she was a business intelligence manager, and latterly has worked for Kaplan International as the commercial head of a global education technology venture creating digital learning tools for children.

Boettner is a graduate of the universities of Dresden and Paris X, holding a BA in international relations. She also has an MBA from the University of Oxford's Said Business School.

Frances Moore, chief executive of IFPI, said: "Research, data and analysis are integral to every aspect of IFPI's work, and we're delighted to welcome Christina onboard. She has outstanding credentials and will be a strong addition to the IFPI team."

Christina Boettner adds: "I'm greatly looking forward to joining the IFPI team and to working with its members and national groups. I am very pleased to be rejoining the music industry at such an exciting time in its development."
