Lauri Rechardt appointed Director of Licensing and Legal Policy
In a restructuring of IFPI's legal team announced today, Lauri Rechardt is to take on the expanded role of Director of Licensing and Legal Policy. Based at IFPI's London headquarters, Rechardt will coordinate the organisation's work for effective legal protection and better rights in music markets worldwide.
The legal policy brief has been added to Rechardt's current responsibilities as Director of Licensing. In that position he worked successfully to help increase licensing revenues worldwide. The expansion of his present role follows the departure earlier this month of David Carson, who has left IFPI to return to a role in the US Government.
Commenting on the restructuring, IFPI Chief Executive Frances Moore said: "I am delighted that Lauri's portfolio at IFPI is to be expanded to add legal policy to his existing responsibilities. Working alongside IFPI's General Counsel Jo Oliver, he will be part of a top quality, closely-coordinated legal team working with our national groups and companies around the world."
