May 2003 - Platinum Europe AwardsJune 6, 2003 May saw singer/songwriter Cat Stevens achieve his first ever Platinum Europe Award for Remember Cat Stevens, The Ultimate Collection. This 24-track album includes hits from Steven's 70's heyday such as Moonshadow, Morning Has Broken and First Cut Is The Deepest, along with rarely heard soundtracks. Celine Dion continues her record-breaking success in Europe with her latest album One Heart, released in March this year, topping one million sales across Europe. A quick tally of her Platinum Europe success shows she maintains her pole position with ten different albums garnering a total of 36 PE Awards. Coldplay's second album A Rush Of Blood To The Head achieved double Platinum certification in May. The album has also notched up national gold awards in six countries, and national platinum or multi-platinum awards in seven more. Mariah Carey's album 1s, released in November 1998 and awarded its first Platinum Europe the following month, has now reached double Platinum
Europe certification.
