Casper Bengtson appointed Managing Director, Universal Music Denmark
Copenhagen, December 3, 2007
Casper Bengtson has been named as Managing Director of Universal Music Denmark, effective from 7 January, 2008. The appointment was announced today by Vico Antippas, President, Nordic, Central & Eastern Europe, at Universal Music Group International, to whom he will report.
Based in Copenhagen, Bengtson will be responsible for all aspects of Universal Music Denmark’s business. He will lead his team to develop future strategies for domestic and international repertoire, and to strengthen and broaden the company’s media and corporate relationships.
Bengtson, 34, joins Universal Music from MTV Networks Denmark, where he has been Country Manager since August 2006. Previously, Bengtson was Client Service Director at the Danish branch of independent media agency Carat, handling clients such as EMI, Dell and Hasbro. Prior to that, he was Account Manager at media communications agency OMD in Denmark.
Vico Antippas said, “Our market-leading company in Denmark has a great track record in finding and developing domestic artists, and in effectively marketing Universal Music’s international roster. Now we want to build even further on that success, creatively and commercially. At MTV Networks Denmark, Casper created and implemented their digital business portals, and refocused the company to meet the challenges of today’s marketplace. With his experience, Casper is the perfect leader for this time.”
Casper Bengtson commented, “I am honoured to be the new Managing Director of Universal Music Denmark, and look forward to working with the team to build the business.”
Bengtson succeeds Jens-Otto Paludan, who left Universal Music Denmark as Managing Director last month.
