Job Title: Legal Adviser - Legal Policy

Reporting to the Executive Vice-President, Global Legal Policy, the successful applicant will be part of a team which has the remit to develop and co-ordinate IFPI's public policy positions for improving the legislative and treaty framework under which record producers operate worldwide.

The role will be working within the London legal policy team advising and providing guidance to governments, member companies, national groups and regional offices within the allocated regional and substantive areas.

Specifically the role will entail: * Working as part of the Legal Policy Department and under the supervision of the Executive Vice President of Global Legal Policy, to develop, present and implement IFPI positions on legislation, treaties and other legal-policy matters * Assisting IFPI regional offices, national groups and companies worldwide, to promote the adoption of IFPI legal policy positions * Working closely with Litigation, Technology, Licensing and Enforcement Departments and regional offices to ensure that legal policy reflects and supports other IFPI objectives * Undertaking other legal-related work as directed to support the work of the organisation

Applicants must be a fully qualified lawyer either in the UK or in another jurisdiction. An advanced legal degree is desirable, and post qualified experience of at least three years is required. Applicants must have gained significant expertise in the area of copyright either through relevant work in the creative sector, through academic work, or through work with (preferably international) public institutions. Additional expertise in the area of new technologies, other areas of intellectual property, and international public law is advantageous.

In addition, applicants should have excellent written and oral command of English and excellent writing skills. Fluency in at least one other major language (Spanish, French, German) is an advantage. The ability to work as part of a team and willingness to travel is required.
