State of the local industry

  • According to a third party research, the estimate for yearly losses to the record industry in Finland due to the illegal file sharing activities is almost 10% of the total market.
  • The Finnish music market fell by 13.5% in value in 2004.
  • During the past two years the major Finnish record companies have reduced staff more than 10% in an average due the drop in sales.
